BAMA "JAMMED"

I was talking to a guy with an earned doctorate in ministerial studies.  He's a pastor of a growing purpose driven church.  He spent many years in the hierarchy of a well-known conservative Christian organization.  He was asked to speak on church planting at an equally well-known seminary.  He went...reluctantly.

He said after he was finished he was upbraided (oh, did I mention the guy is 50?) by a group of young seminarians who challenged him when he said that Christians need to be willing to go places where Christians typically aren't, if they want to reach people, other than people who are already Christians.  Their biggest argument? "That would hurt our witness".

If the only people we "witness" to are Christians, if the only places we ever go are places that only Christians congregate - we seriously need to consider getting a real life to go with our new life.

Saturday night there were 110,000 people gathered just outside Enterprise.  If Jesus were here right now (which He is, but that's another post entirely), where do you think He might have been?  A covered dish gathering at the fellowship hall?  A small group meeting?  I know, a youth outing at the water park!  GMAB.

If Jesus wasn't interested in crowds, He would have stayed in Nazareth...
