MONDAY MIND DUMP

Hey guys, a quick update before Leslie and I head down to Ocala for our Next Level Leadership coaching network. (Ocala, that's uncomfortably close to the town where that one football team comes from, isn't it?)  It matters not, if Alabama losing to Florida is the worst thing that happened on Saturday, December 6th, then we are some fortunate and blessed people!  (Although I AM taking the opportunity to ramble a bit, just to push the whole Hal Mayer Gator post thing further down the page on my Blog!

What a FANTASTIC service we enjoyed at Crossroads on Sunday!  It is such a privilege and an honor to get to serve there with all of you.  I am continually blown away at God's grace and goodness to us, and Sunday was just another example of how great He is!  Some quick take-away's from the day:
  1. Started our new Christmas series called "JOY".  After five weeks of intense (and longer) services covering some pretty important Biblical ground - it was fun to kick it back a bit and ease our way into the Christmas holiday.
  2. Tons of new faces at Crossroads as we enjoyed our SECOND BIGGEST CROWD EVER! (Just seems to keep growing, huh?)
  3. Had TONS of laughs in the first ten minutes of the service.  The whole Chinese instructions thing was a lot of fun!
  4. The old movie theatre sanctuary looked unbelievably festive, the stage festooned (one of my favorite words) with a half-dozen white trees with multi-colored lights!  Thanks to all who braved near-certain electrocution to get it all set up.
  5. Lobby was ROCKING this morning!
  6. Worship solid as always - we are SO FORTUNATE to have these people doing what God put in them right here at Crossroads.
  7. Great new decorations up in Pre-School and Nursery - thank you Peggy Eshelman!
  8. Many, many people made a decision to rededicate their lives to Christ this morning (that's actually #1 on the list - 'cause it's why we're here).
  9. AWESOME (first use of that word in several Blog posts) time playing touch football with a crew of Roadies and a bunch of new faces.  It was great.  Is ANYONE tougher than Ethan Mendenhall?  BTW, the Lord spoke to me this afternoon to let me know that J.D. should henceforth-eth, ONLY play on the lead pastor's team. Ha, ha!
  10. What a wonderful day from start to finish.  My only regret is that we have to wait seven more days before we get to do it again!
May your JOY be complete, and may your entire week be filled with gratitude as you marvel at the goodness of God and how MUCH He loves us all!

  1. We can't forget the overwhelming success of our first Christmas community outreach. Sunday we received gifts and supplies for 34 senior citizens in need from coffee county. Yippie!

  2. Mea culpa.

Will, when you're as old as me, it's possible to forget anything. Well said. Santa for Seniors was a tremendous success! All the more so because of how young our church is. I hope that it's a program we will continue to participate in, for many years to come! Great job Natalie, and thanks to all who gave!
