Q: What's the deal with dinosaurs? Why doesn't the Bible talk about them. If the earth is 6000 years old, how come there's things on the earth that are supposedly millions of years old?

ReplyDeletethe flood. Actually even afterwards. But then we killed them all. Who wouldn't? They started to eat mea after the flood. They were scary dragons!
I don't believe in dinosaurs. It's an awesome idea that they were real, but not biting. Sorry. Now dragons on the other hand... :)

Scripture, in a way does support the exsistance of dinosaurs, seriously, it does!! Its all throughout, you just have to see it for what it is. You just have to trust that God's ways our greater than ours and His creation and all its details and mysteries are not going to be known until He wants them known.
ReplyDeleteFor example, did electricity exists before Thomas Edison and others learned to harness it, yes, of course! God created electricity, and His creation, Humans, finally got around to using it at His will.
I believe the same to be true with dinos and the young earth data. We will find it on God's perfect timing, despite our best search efforts. Its here for us, but we haven't found it, or God does not mean for us to find it yet.
You have to look at the OLD earth theroies as exactly that... theroies!!! The fossil records have so many unproven holes and conclusions drawn, that it takes great faith to trust them.
Lastly, an interesting yet little known fact of our day is that species go extinct all the time, despite our best efforts to stop them, they do!! Just like many animals did back then.
As far as dinos freakish size, scripture has answer for that, and peoples great ages.
So my take is this, the earth IS young, Dinos are real and they are still hear, just smaller.
I am by no means an expert, but the Bible does talk about dinosaurs. In Job you have the leviathan, and in Nehemiah(??) you have a dragon. Dinosaur is a "new" word, in that it has only been used in the last 100-200 years, but dragon was used LONG ago and may have been the word people used instead of dinosaur.

Also, the animals on the ark didn't have to be adults as far as I know and many young earth Christians believe that the young dino's went on the ark. The "after flood" earth was no longer a viable place for them to survive atmospherically, environmentally etc.
So that is just my small take on that topic.
There is one thought out in the world that dinosaurs are a creation by the devil and this was the begining of satans downfall or why he thought he was equal to GOD cause he figured out how to create just like GOD had to create in the begining...I can personally say that I am not in total agreement with this just a theory I have heard many times over

ReplyDeleteCarbon 14 dating, the crown jewel of old earth theorist. was completely inaccurate at the time of the discovery of most of our found fossils... that's not an opinion btw, just a fact.
not only was it inaccurate. it got exponentially more inaccurate the further into the past one went. for example:
one "specimen" found a few years ago was carbon dating at about 500 years old. that specimen was a football from the 1950s.
object founds that should be about 2000 years old have been carbon-dated at 10,000,000+
something found that should be 4,000 years old would be about 65, million
so, Items dated to be from the Cretaceous period would ACTUALLY be about 8,000 years old.
now, current carbon dating has gotten much better but now we have the problem of hundreds of thousands of specimen already dated!! and textbook after textbook written containing the results. obviously that puts scientists in the odd place of looking like dopes if they go back and spend billions of dollars to redate everything.
besides science doesn't get funding by being true, just by being right. doesn't it?
I think "dinosaurs" are still here, only smaller. Alligators, Crocodiles, certain birds, turtles...you get the point. I dont agree with scientists saying how old the Earth is or how long ago the dinos might have lived though.
ReplyDeleteEvolutionists believe that dinos died out about 65 million years ago, and man came on the scene about 3 million years ago. If this were true, why do we have so many ancient documents and cave drawings and descriptions of dinos? There are so many descriptions of them from ancient times even before the first dino fossil was found. The creation museum has a fossil of a dinosaur footprint with a human footprint inside of it. Like the human was chasing the dinosaur trying to kill it or something.
ReplyDeleteIn Genesis 1.21, "sea monsters" or "whales in KJV", the hebrew word is translated as "dragon" elsewhere. I think someone else already mentioned that dragons and dinosaurs are synonymous because the term wasn't invented until recently. Also see Isaiah 30.6
Many people believe that dinos lived until only a few hundred years ago in some remote parts of the world. There are documents of people killing "dragons" up until I think the 1600's. Read the case of the farmer killing one in italy (google).
