WEEKEND UPDATE - EASTER SUNDAY 2010!

What a completely fantastic day at Crossroads on Easter Sunday!  The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the atmosphere was electric, the coffee was hot, the donuts were fresh, and I was completely blown away by God's goodness!  Here's just a few of the things I noticed:
  • Biggest crowd EVER at Crossroads.  Final count: 376!  That's twice as many as we had last year.  God is good and He's the one making it all happen!
  • Many people rededicated their lives to Christ on Sunday and made decisions to go public with their faith through baptism!
  • We had a TON of first-time attenders.  I have no idea how many, but Rachel will do the math tomorrow and pass it on.
  • Everybody looked GREAT Sunday.  So much fun to see all the kids and moms and dads duded up for Easter!  Also great to see folks in shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops!!  It's ALL good!
  • Crossroads folks did a GREAT job inviting people.  Always great to meet friends and family of regular attenders!
  • The worship was wonderful on Sunday.  Nic & Janna and Maggie and the band did a great job.  LOVED the three-part harmony stuff!  The new song was awesome!
  • Loved sharing the message this morning.  I mean, I ALWAYS do, but there is something uniquely special about sharing the Gospel message on Easter Sunday.
  • Last year at Easter we had a 30 foot tall Green Godzilla in the parking lot to kick off a new series.  That was fun, but I definitely learned something about Easter from the experience: Let Easter be Easter.  It was so right to focus all our attention on the Resurrection and the Life!!  There will be time for all the wacky illustrations you can handle the rest of the year.
  • I ate too many chocolate bunnies after the service.
  • I ate too much ham after the service.
  • I LOVE EASTER!
  • Thank you, thank you, thank you all who volunteered setting up and tearing down (sorry about your foot Leo), greeting people, making coffee and setting up food service, working in the lobby, handing out bulletins, ushering and keeping order, working on the tech staff, playing music, serving in middle school and elementary ministry, serving in kindergarten, pre-school and the nursery!!  You did such a GREAT job making our two Easter services happen at Crossroads!!!

Special shout out to Pastor Derrick from HighPointe Church and Pastor Mike from Christ Life Church for being so supportive of Crossroads!  Both of their churches also had fantastic Easter celebrations!  Think about this: between our three churches about 850 people worshipped in Enterprise on Sunday morning!!!  God is doing something extraordinary in our community.  It such an honor and a privilege to get to participate in it at any level, but to get to do what we do each week...well, it's just overwhelming sometimes!!

Have a GREAT week.  Go out into your world in the power of the Holy Spirit and the Resurrection and share your faith, your hope and your love with someone!!
